Raijmakers Heetmakers Jalapeno, Gin & Lime – Spring has finally arrived, and that’s usually when I reach for fresh sauces again — green sauces. They just give dishes that little extra bit of life, and that fits perfectly with this time of year when everything is blooming again. My absolute favorite in this category has to be the Raijmakers Heetmakers Jalapeño, Gin & Lime. Wonderfully fresh thanks to the jalapeño, tomatillo, lime, and vinegar. Savory from the garlic, onion, and parsley — and an almost floral flavor in the background from the gin. Super delicious with fish, salads, sandwiches, Mexican dishes, and so much more.

Wild Sauce Sweet Shiso – I’m not lying when I say this is one of the most unique hot sauces I’ve ever had. In a good way. It’s a blend of the fermented flavor of citrusy Aji peppers, Korean syrup ‘cheong’ made from cedar lemons, and the herbiness of red shiso leaves. Many of these special ingredients are even grown by Wild Sauce themselves. The whole thing is a combination of fresh, sweet, and nicely spicy. Absolutely delicious in a salad, with curries, rice and noodle dishes, as a dressing, or with seafood.

Dawon’s Hot Dog Hot Sauce – Maybe this sauce has a little less of those spring vibes, but it just remains a favorite for me. Especially when the weather gets good enough to fire up the barbecue and throw some sausages (or hotdogs) & burgers on the grill. Because that’s when this sauce gets to shine. It’s got a great savory kick from the onion and garlic, a fresh tanginess from the vinegar, medium heat from the Habanero, and just a touch of sweetness from the dates. And sandwiches? Also an absolute perfect vehicle for this sauce. Enjoy!

Mama Yu’s Black Bean Chilli Oil – If you like crispy chilli oil with a generous dose of umami, then you really shouldn’t miss out on this black bean version of Mama Yu’s chilli oil. It gives a nice bite and, together with the shallot and garlic, also provides a lot of savouriness. Ginger adds a little freshness and makes this delicious in rice and noodle dishes. This is my favourite from Mama Yu.

Wild Sauce Ginger Amarillo – Just like Stan, I’m currently a little obsessed with this Belgian brand. The Ginger Amarillo hot sauce, to be precise. It’s kind of like a salsa verde, but with ginger and crossed with Peruvian cuisine. One of the ingredients is Huacatay, also known as Peruvian black mint. A truly special ingredient with hints of pineapple, coriander, citrus, and mint. This really takes your tacos, ceviche, or salad to the next level.

Marie Sharp’s Green HabaneroThis sauce has been available in our webshop for about 8 years now. It’s certainly not a bestseller, but it’s one we continue to stock. It’s just too good. It has a wonderfully fresh and crisp flavour thanks to the use of nopal (a nutritious type of cactus) and green habaneros. Ingredients such as lime, onion and garlic round it off nicely. This hot sauce can be used as a “verde”, making it delicious with all kinds of Mexican dishes and even salads.
