This Don Cabron Salsa Macha de dos Chiles is a delicious traditional Mexican salsa macha! This chili oil originated in pre-Hispanic times, used by the Olmecs and Totonacs in the Veracruz region, Mexico. The ancient inhabitants made use of dried chili peppers immersed in palm oil. Thanks to “La Conquista Española,” sesame seeds and peanuts were added. This not only makes the texture extra crunchy but also enhances the flavor tremendously.
The name ‘macha’ refers to people who were brave enough to consume and endure strong doses of spiciness. It’s not that spicy though, so you can definitely handle it! Super delicious with your favorite Mexican dishes, but also great in noodle and rice dishes, with cheese, and much more.
