Tomasu Madame Jeanette Sweet Spicy Soy Sauce is a very special limited edition soy sauce from the highly praised Rotterdam brand. They already make (one of) the best soy sauces you can find, but this Madame Jeanette soy sauce is in our opinion yet another step up. This soy sauce is an experiment and they made it with their own home-grown peppers. There’s quite a beautiful story to tell about that.
Together with the Centre for Genetic Resources, the Netherlands (CGN) they went searching for the perfect pepper and in 2018 received 5 to 10 seeds from different varieties. Tomasu then spent 5 years growing, testing and collecting seeds. After lots of time, blood, sweat and tears they found the perfect addition to the ‘Sweet & Spicy Soy Sauce‘: the Madame Jeanette. With Tomasu’s signature soy sauce as the base, the heat is mellowed, allowing the pepper’s flavor to shine even better. Truly unique & fantastic stuff!
