Secret Aardvark Smoky Aardvark Chipotle Hot Sauce

We all know the extremely popular Secret Aardvark Hot Sauce by now, but this is the Smoky Aardvark Chipotle – Hab Sauce, as it is officially called. The base of fire-roasted tomatoes is the same as the number 1 bestseller, but with the smoky flavor of Chipotle peppers in the mix. The hot sauce is slightly less hot than the original, but this sauce is certainly not inferior in taste if you ask us. Of course this hot sauce is perfect with just about anything that comes from the barbecue, but you can also try it on tacos or a tasty sandwich. Very versatile and very tasty!

It is not spicy, I would say almost not at all. When I opened it, there was oil on the aluminum seal, so it’s possible natural oils from the peppers and the roasted tomatoes separating and settling at the top. It has a vinegar taste and you can feel small pieces of chipotle in it, it’s not a complete paste. It is very watery and not thick, probably because of all those tomatoes. It would be nice as a salad dressing or on a taco – basically something that can hold the liquid – but it’s definitely not for French fries.
