Temperus Perseu Hot Sauce is a sweet and savory hot sauce of Portuguese origin. The sweetness comes mainly from the brown sugar and dates and the savoury flavours from the mustard and balsamic vinegar. Chocolate Habanero peppers (which don’t taste like chocolate, but are chocolate brown) provide some heat, without getting really hot. This pepper is also a bit smokier than the normal Habanero and that is why it is often used for BBQ sauces and marinades. It is therefore not surprising that this sauce goes especially well with grilled meat & vegetables.
Warning: sauce is very thin, so pour carefully (via a spoon).
