This Hotter Than El 1901 Roasted Red Ale Hot Sauce is made with Duke’s 1901 Red Ale, but that’s not the only special ingredient in this sauce. Fire-roasted tomatoes, together with the vinegar and Granny Smith apples, make for a nice (pleasant) acidity, but the addition of red curry paste, carrots and cumin makes it possible to taste several layers that provide a savory character. The red Habaneros provide a nice heat, without being overpowering. Combine all of this in one sauce and you have a pretty versatile hot sauce that works well in pastas and curries alike.
