Dawson’s Cedar Smoked Garlic Hot Sauce

This Dawson’s Cedar Smoked Garlic Hot Sauce is medium hot and quite complex, even though the sauce only contains 7 ingredients. High-quality white wine vinegar is the first ingredient and together with the sumac this creates a nice almost lemon-like acidity. That is followed by a nice, but very tolerable burn of Habanero’s. The star of the show is arguably the savory flavor created by cedar smoked garlic. Finally, the sauce has an almost creamy structure because of the olive oil and we can certainly appreciate that. An amazing sauce that is also very versatile. Our tips: use this hot sauce on a piece of grilled salmon or in your favorite pasta.

Not very spicy, or tiny bit spicy, but has excellent taste.

  2. Bear (verified owner)

Decent flavour, mild heat. Not bad but not the best in the Dawson’s line. The garlic and smoke flavours are most prevalent (surprise surprise) but the taste of the actual pepper seems slightly dulled compared to Dawson’s other sauces. One of my favourite things about Dawson’s is the actual taste of the real pepper always takes center-stage, with many of the other flavours complementing it in a brilliant balance. This sauce doesn’t seem to have quite hit that mark but it’s decent nonetheless.
